Being the rainy season, and so many of us away or unable to travel, we offer an online service. We do hope you will set aside some time as a family to listen and sing along with the songs, and listen to the sermon from Sean.
He (the devil) was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:44 and 31) I read this in my morning reading (based on a Bible reading plan). So I think God has a message for us.
We have recently started a new series on the Sermon on the Mount. If you have missed any of the messages, you can easily catch up on our recordings. For ease, you can find the links below, in order.
We have also included a couple of resources at the end which you might find helpful.
Join us over the next 5 weeks to pray for our church. We have set Thursdays at 7pm for our prayer time, so that we can gather together in small groups or even on our own at home, to come before the Lord, unified as a church family, in prayer. If you cannot make that exact day or time, we encourage you to set aside another day or time that you are able to.
We have some very encouraging and Biblical prayer prompts, which we took from an article on The Gospel Coalition. The link to the original article is provided below.
Each week prior to the set prayer time, we will reshare these prompts and scripture, as well as a song of praise. We thought this would be a wonderful way to come before the Lord, unified, as a church family. We encourage you to spend time in the scripture throughout the week, you might even be inspired to dig through the Word for further scriptures relevant to the prayers. But be encouraged to pray for our church any day, any time!
Look out for the messages each week, as we will share them here, as well as on our Whatsapp Group and Facebook page too.
Week 1. 11 March 2021. What to pray for:
That we would have unity amid diversity—loving those with whom we have nothing in common but the gospel.
That a culture of discipling would form in which making disciples is viewed as an ordinary part of the Christian life.
That faithful elders would use Scripture to train members to do the work of ministry.
That a hunger for studying the gospel would form among members so that they can guide and guard one another in it.
That people would commit to small groups, prayer groups and/or bible studies and through this, transparent, meaningful relationships would become normal.
The preaching of God’s Word—that it would be biblically careful and Holy Spirit imbued.
That elders would remain above reproach, kept from temptation, complacency, idols, and worldliness.
